5500 Filing Season Heating Up

6/29/2018 | July tends to be a busy time for employers filing Form 5500, since the deadline is July 31 for calendar year plans. Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts (Health Care FSA) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA) require a Form 5500.

Form 5500 is a requirement for all ERISA employers that provide health and welfare plans that have 100 or more participants as of the first date of that plan year. Employers that provide insured or self-insured health and welfare plans are subject to these requirements. Church-controlled groups and governmental entities do not need to file.  Read more >
