Your Benefits Card gives you easy access to your HRA funds when you need them.

Getting Your Card

If your HRA includes a Benefits Card, it will be mailed to you automatically. There's no need to activate it. The card is ready to use the first time you swipe it.

You can also request up to five additional cards for dependents covered under your plan at no cost through our mobile app, EBCentral or your online account.

Making Purchases

You can use your Benefits Card in person, online, or add it to your digital wallet and use it wherever Apple Pay®, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay are accepted. Many retailers can automatically verify eligible purchases at the point of sale. If your transaction is verified, you're all set! If not, you may be asked to submit documentation.

Your employer’s plan determines which expenses are covered, so be sure to log in to your online account and check My Company Plan for details. Your card may be declined if you attempt to use for an expense that is not covered.

Keep in mind: your card draws from the current plan year’s funds, so it’s important to know when your plan year ends and a new one begins. This helps ensure your purchases are applied correctly and avoids any confusion when using your card across plan years.

Documentation Requests

If a purchase isn’t automatically verified, we’ll let you know.

  • EBCentral app users receive a real-time push notification right after the card is used. Tap the alert to upload a photo of your receipt or other documentation directly in the app. EBCentral instantly reviews your image and lets you know if additional details are needed—so you can fix any issues before submitting.
  • Online account users receive an email with the transaction details and a prompt to upload documentation from their dashboard.

Your purchase documentation needs to include an itemized statement of charges from the provider or an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance carrier. It must include:

  • Date(s) the items or service were provided
  • Description of the items or service
  • Name of the provider or merchant
  • Dollar amount of the expense

  • Always save itemized receipts for your Benefits Card purchases.
  • Only use your card for expenses covered by your plan.
  • Download the EBCentral app and enable notifications to stay informed and respond quickly.

Using Your Benefits Card in a New Plan Year

Your Benefits Card pays for eligible expenses with dollars from the current plan year. So it's important for you to know when your plan year ends and a new one begins. Learn more about using your Benefits Card in a new plan year.

Report a Card Lost or Stolen

If your card goes missing, you can lock your card in your mobile app, EBCentral, to prevent any unwanted purchases.

  1. Log in to EBCentral.
  2. From the dashboard, select Lock Card.
  3. When you find your card, you can unlock it by selecting Unlock.

If you can’t find your card or it was stolen, you can replace your card in EBCentral and have a new card mailed to you.

  1. Log in to EBCentral.
  2. From the dashboard, select Replace.
  3. Verify we have the correct address on file and select Replace.

Your card will be immediately closed, and a replacement card will be sent. Replacement cards may take up to 10 business days to arrive.
