HRA Support

What benefits are available?

A health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) reimburses qualified, eligible medical expenses as defined by My Company Plan incurred by participants, their spouses, or their dependents as defined in IRC 152 or their children as defined in IRC 152(f)(1) who have not attained age 27 as of the end of the calendar year.

Claims may also be submitted online. Participants simply log in to their online account.

What expenses are covered?

The types of medical expenses that are HRA eligible are described in the My Company Plan. Expenses must meet the requirements of Section 213 of the IRS Code and are defined as amounts paid for “the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, or for the purpose of affecting any structure or function of the body.” An HRA only reimburses expenses as defined by IRS law.

Cosmetic procedures or items purchased for cosmetic reasons are not reimbursed. Many general health items are also not reimbursed unless they are necessary to treat a specific medical condition.

What happens to an employee’s HRA if they terminate employment?

If an employee terminates employment, their HRA has a run out period to submit claims and services that must incur during a specific period of time. Participants should contact the Participant Services Team to discuss the specifics of their situation.

What is the maximum limit on benefits?

Employees can find the maximum limit on their HRA through their online account in their My Company Plan.

What are the eligibility requirements of the HRA?

In order to participate in the HRA, participants should log in to their online account to review the eligibility requirements in the My Company Plan, which is found by clicking EBC HRA under Account Information in the menu.

How do participants view My Company Plan?

My Company Plan is available as a download available in participants’ and employers’ online accounts. It outlines details of the plan design.
