Reporting COBRA Coverage on Form 1095-C

The IRS has provided guidance in the instructions for Forms 1094-C and 1095-C for how an applicable large employer (ALE) should report coverage when COBRA is involved. The reporting differs based on whether the ALE’s group health plan is insured or self-insured.

ACA’s Auto-Enrollment Provision Repealed

Earlier this week, President Obama signed the “Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015” (H.R. 1314) which, among other items, repealed the Affordable Care Act’s provision that would have required employers with 200 or more full time equivalent employees to auto-enroll those employees and new hires into their group health plan.
