Bowing to pressure from numerous individuals who received cancellation notices for the health plans they had purchased and from small employers who could not renew the health insurance plans they had offered to employees due to health care reform mandates the plans would not comply with, the Obama administration offered relief and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued guidance, on November 14th, to allow these non-compliant plans to be renewed in 2014.
