CRS Releases Report on AHCA

posted on

Last week, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) issued a report on the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which was passed on May 4, 2017 by the U.S. House of Representatives. The report includes three tables that provide an overview of the AHCA provisions. Table 1 contains provisions that apply to the private health insurance market; Table 2 contains provisions that impact the Medicaid program; and Table 3 contains provisions that relate to public health and taxes. Each table also includes a column that identifies whether and how a given AHCA provision is related to an ACA provision (e.g., repeals or modifies an ACA provision). In addition to the tables, the report summarizes each AHCA provision, including the effective date.
