Facing certain defeat, GOP pulls American Health Care Act

posted on

Late on Friday March 24, 2017, facing certain defeat in the House of Representatives, President Donald Trump asked Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis) to pull the legislation rather than see it defeated in the House.

"We are going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future," Ryan said. "I spoke with the President a little while ago and I told him the best thing to do was to pull this bill and he agreed with that. I will not sugar coat this, this is a disappointing day for us. Doing big things is hard," Ryan said.

It is unknown when health care reform will be addressed again this year.  We will continue to watch this and will provide updates accordingly.
