Compliance Consultant - 1225

Be a part of a growing 100% employee-owned company! Employee Benefits Corporation is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Compliance Consultant position. This position serves as an expert for regulatory compliance of the products and services offered by our company, including Section 125 and 105 plans, Health Savings Accounts, COBRA, state continuation, transportation benefits, and services provided through Compliance Services (e.g. wrap plan documents, Form 5500 preparation, and nondiscrimination testing). This position also performs internal training for staff, external training for brokers and clients on these areas of expertise; and provides new employee privacy and security training. 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in support of day-to-day benefit plan administration for our brokers and clients
  • Assist in creating and writing correspondence to employers and brokers
  • Research, write and audit internal departmental training materials
  • Develop and present training materials on compliance topics to internal staff, external brokers and employer groups
  • Deliver privacy and security training for internal staff
  • Monitor, research and disseminate regulatory changes to staff
  • Assist in creating and writing correspondence to employers and brokers
  • Manage document updates and editing
  • Provide additional support as needed to health and welfare benefit wrap plan document customers
  • Assist internal staff, clients and brokers with questions related to our product offering
  • Act as a subject matter expert in new product development initiatives and actively participate as a member of the project team


  • BA/BS in health insurance, health policy or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with tax advantaged benefits and/or COBRA administration
  • Previous experience with training development, to include preparing and/or delivering training materials or presentations
  • Ability to independently identify, research and resolve complex issues and queries with multiple facets and considerations
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of two or more of the following areas:  Section 125, Section 105 and related pre-tax benefits; COBRA continuation; ERISA, including but not limited to the administration and oversight of Plan Document and Summary Plan Description requirements; and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as it relates to consumer driven health plans. 
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
