Client Administration Director - 1166

At Employee Benefits Corporation, creating and maintaining meaningful relationships around our trusted brand of “making things easy” for our clients is key to our success.  Employee Benefits Corporation is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Client Administration Director.  This role provides direction, oversight and execution of established strategic and tactical plans for client benefit plan administration.  The Director leads the administration teams and product specialists to ensure accurate execution of administrative functions, drive continuous improvement in the quality of work delivered, optimize support processes, provide direction and ownership for escalations, and ultimately build trust and foster long term relationships with clients.

Some of the specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Drive operational excellence across processes to ensure delivery of desired results and inspire others to do the same
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure clear business, organizational and resourcing strategies are established and in place
  • Recommend and assist in the development and implementation of company and departmental goals and objectives
  • Serve as a member of the operations leadership team to mentor, influence and drive forward progressive and strategic thinking
  • Develop, implement and/or manage the organization’s client administration policy recommendations, procedures and standards, as well as establish scalable business processes across teams
  • Plan and lead integration activities for large books of business
  • Regularly report on status, issues, risks and mitigation strategies related to client administration
  • Facilitate resolution of escalated client concerns
  • Manage budgets and monitor expenditures against budget
  • Collaborate with operations leaders to build high performing teams
  • Develop and maintain robust talent management and developmental systems for client administration
  • Develop key performance indicators to monitor, analyze and improve the effectiveness of administration processes
  • Review, audit and summarize operational performance data and provide executive summaries with recommendations
  • Participate in industry conferences to obtain an awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices to strengthen organizational and technical skills and knowledge
  • Maintain focus on emerging benefit administration trends, best practices and regulatory guidance and incorporate appropriate findings into continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization as well as vendors, partners and industry peers
  • Establish resource requirements and allocate resources accordingly
  • Ensure staff knowledge and development through training, coaching, mentoring and counseling
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback to team and complete written annual performance evaluations

In order to be successful in this role, qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor Degree in Business or related discipline, along with ten years or progressive leadership experience. Other required qualifications are as follows:

  • Demonstrated experience driving organizational effectiveness, change expertise and workforce planning/development with passion for leading and delivering superior client service
  • Strong business acumen, judgment and strategic orientation with proficiency in multiple disciplines
  • High level of complex problem solving, critical thinking, and information analysis skills to define problems, collect data, analyze available information and evaluate results to make high impact decisions even at times when insufficient information is available
  • Proven track record in learning new concepts quickly, applying depth and breadth of current skills in analyzing new opportunities or problem areas
  • Demonstrated competence in identifying risk areas and proactively determining appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Excellent communication management (verbal and written) and follow up
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills to include diplomacy, empathy, influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (1-2 times per quarter), requiring some overnight stays
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a high paced environment with limited direction and a strong sense of urgency
  • Working knowledge of benefit plan administration for one or more benefit plans
  • Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of contact management systems

Preferred qualifications include a working knowledge of benefit plan regulations, payment card operations and plan design, prior experience with health saving account administration.  Certified in Flexible Compensation (CFC) designation is also a plus.
